As the Clampitts get ready to close the book on Japan, I`ve been thinking about all the things that seemed odd when we arrived. And so begins the series, “You know you`re in Japan when….”
Today`s Entry:
“You know you`re in Japan when your dog is better accessorized than you are.”
I used to live by a rule stating I would never date anybody who had better hair or skinnier legs than me. There is now an amendment to my personal constitution. I will also not have a dog with better hair.
Like their human counterparts, a dog`s gotta get a little running around time. But it`s not on the way to the park.
Japanese dogs prefer not to jog alongside their masters. They`re all pack leaders preferring to point the way. Usually from the front basket.
After Easter and before Labor Day, please adhere to fashion rules. The dog must match the shoes.
The dog back pack allows the Master two fully functioning hands.
Don`t leave the house without the shades, shoes, and running outfit-
Or your blush and false eyelashes.
A fashion editor will cover clothing in a separate post.
Until next time, peace from the park.
OMG that is too funny. I love the strollers at the park!

I asked someone- “I`ve forgotten- do we have dog strollers in the US?” It seems so normal to see a hairy face looking back at you.

Haven’t seen the dog stroller and fake eyelash, but everything else can be spotted here in Shanghai too! Amusing, isn’t it?!

Crazy, Here in Kentucky we decorate our trucks. Usually with something quite telling about their owner— such as recently seen “Penicillin Kills It, Ain’t Scared Of It” , or the advice to a friend of ours- if your son is going to drive crazy and run red lights- he may want to remove his name from his back windshield. Oddly, also a lot of In Memoriam- “We Miss You Bubba 1/14/1956-8/1/2010” That kind of thing- like roving gravestones. weird.

I never saw this when I lived in Japan, but that was a few years ago, … you know, 20 or so.
The few dogs I saw in my little neighborhood included one poor guy who was left outside and BARKED All. The. Time. for the second year of my stay. Drove me crazy!!!

LOL And I thought Beverly Hills pet owners were shameless in this regard. 🙂 I love dogs, especially mine, but she’ll never wear people-clothes, or serve dual purpose as a 90-pound purse.

Aren`t they a hoot? Love seeing that more dogs than not wear outfits….And your dog sounds more like a suitcase than a purse!
